Ayon sa Old Testament Word Studies ni Wilson, ang pandiwang Hebreo na sa·khalʹ ay nangangahulugang “tingnan; maging pantas, maingat; kumilos nang may kapantasan, maging matalino.” (1978, p. 461) Sa gayon, ang sa·khalʹ ay isinasalin bilang “may kaunawaan” (Aw 14:2), ‘kumilos nang may kapantasan’ (1Sa 18:5; Kaw 10:19), ‘magtagumpay’ (Kaw 17:8), ‘pangyarihing magpakita ng kaunawaan’ (Kaw 16:23).
